Volunteer

Do you wish to share your time with a homeless animal? WAG has several volunteer opportunities available!

Fostering

Fostering is a very heartwarming experience, and is by far the most direct way in which you can provide an opportunity for a life of happiness for an otherwise homeless animal. You’ll most certainly be rewarded for opening your heart and your home by many wet, sloppy, puppy kisses and / or sweet kitty purrs!

Volunteering

Assisting with adopt-a-pet events is another opportunity for direct interaction with homeless animals. Walking dogs, cuddling with cats, and tidying up cages are all part of the adopt-a-pet experience. In addition to assisting with the animals at the events, we also need help with set-up and break-down cages and tables before and after adoption events.

WAG Animal Rescue is looking for hands on volunteers to help with kittens and cats in the city of Willis MI (near Belleville). The types of volunteer work would be scooping litter, general cleaning and socializing kittens.

Fundraising

Fundraising is vital for our continued ability to assist the homeless animals. A variety of events are held throughout the year, and WAG is always in need of volunteer time and talent. WAG fundraising includes community outreach events, such as promoting our services to the animals of the community by having an information booth at the Wyandotte Street Art Fair and many other street fairs. Volunteers are needed for manning the booth at these events, and its a great way to interact with other animal lovers from the area. Lastly, WAG holds numerous other fundraising events throughout the year and many volunteers are always needed!
